I've not got any ideas Mark, but am curious as to what sort of access
method you'd be looking at to get in there;  I can only currently think
of a steep staircase to minimise ground area taken up (which wouldn't be
particularly Pip-friendly) or a manhole & ladder (which wouldn't be
particularly Pip-friendly or Durnik-friendly ;) )
