Whatever distro you get, I found it easiest getting a Wifi card based on
the Atmel chipset easiest to get working, my other wifi card (i forget the
chipset) has been a nightmare, and after a few DNS lookups, dies! :o

here is the how to: http://atmelwlandriver.sourceforge.net/howto/howto.html

As for a specific distro, i think that the WiFi drives work with pretty
much any, not sure about the installed file sizes though.
If you want to install it on a CF card, and want to use X (to display your
pics and bits) i guess you'll be wanting a bigger 128/256 meg card?

Slackware do a distro that fits on a zip disk:
http://www.slackware.com/zipslack/

otherwise there is damn small linux:
http://freshmeat.net/projects/damnsmalllinux/?branch_id=38341&release_id=133166&topic_id=55
(50meg)

cant say i've used either of these, I'm a big gentoo fan myself, which you
can do a fairly minimal install of 80meg.. but you'll need to know what
you want to put on top of that.

if you google for 'small linux distro' you get back loads of forum
responces with peoples views on certain distros, could be worth plowing
through these for a bit?
Good luck!
