Re: [ukha_d] Re: £100 Wireless Media Player

I hope I can use both at once! I'd like to use the MVP in most rooms
because of the video display - it makes selecting from the menu a lot
easier! Combining the TV/Audio side together would also be nice.

However, I need a unit for the bathroom, and I don't want the expense of a
waterproof TV in there, so the Netgear one sounds a better solution for
that
room.

On a related note, does anyone know what is allowed in the bathroom
power-wise? I know mains sockets are not allowed, but what about a 12v
supply (just to power the media player and control a remote amp)?

Note also the Hauppauge unit does not handle Windows Media Audio (WMA)
whereas the Netgear does.. ? The Netgear is positioned very much as a
standlaone end node, display and remote whereas the Hauppauge much more as
a
peripheral to a TV. Different postioning of the design.

Interesting on the Netgear comp video o/p though....
