Does it have to be a Nicam (TV) encoder - would it suffice to encode to
stereo FM (radio) - or is the player fixed as a TV ?  FM radio stereo
encoders are available at much lower cost, although the quality of a stereo
FM signal is technically much lower than a Nicam TV channel. But more than
adequate I would have guessed.
