Graham,

Thanks for the swift response, so if a PC is the way to go, what do you
use for control? Do you have a SWMBO useable remote control setup, or is
it wireless keyboard and mouse time?
If I am to get any kind of approval for this the missus has to be able
to work it easily, and she will not want to sit with a keyboard in order
to choose a film or an MP3 track.

Phil and I both use a PC as a player running a combination of myHTPC
(pretty front end) and ZoomPlayer (with codecs from WinDVD or
PowerDVD).

The problem with all non-pc front ends (including Kiss and Xbox) so
far
has been their inability to play DVDs from folders in 'native' format.
I
rip my dvds with all extras and menu structures in place, so they
behave
exactly like a dvd when played. This is not yet possible without using
a
PC for playback, though I believe that work is progressing on both
Xbox
and Kiss players to allow for such playback.
