I currently use Jreceiver so I guess the answer is yes. You need to run
the xPL Rio image (www.xplhal.com) as well which is a modified version of
Rioplay that sends out and receives xPL messages. I now drive all my music
off of a series of xpl asp pages organised by artist and album all
dynamically created from the Jreceiver info. When a track gets played I
catch the xPL message it sends out and store the details in a mysql
database so that I can compile a house most played chart.

If you want further details happy to discuss on the ukha_xpl list.
