Re: Kaleidescape movie server

Well I'm still in the early days of playing but am getting quite acceptable
results with my Xbox + Chip + XBMP playing DivX encoded films from a
central
server via a normal windows Share. Have a digital connection to my Amp and
get the full Dolby 5.1 soundtrack.

Playing with DivX settings is quite painful given the 12 Hour Test cycle
:-( but I've just discovered one the "test" servers I have access
to can do
a single DivX pass @ 47 fps or about 45 mins for a typical film which
should
make comparing the results of playing with all the various settings a bit
easier.

makes a player about £160.
