I have been using JFax (J2) for many years now. They recently
bought eFax.

The advantages of JFax are definitely worth the comparably tiny
$12.00 per month per number. I have a fax number in the States, in
the UK and in France. All of my clients/suppliers therefore send me
faxes with a local phone call. I receive the fax via e-mail for
practically nothing no matter where I am in the world and the sender
doesn't even need to know where I am. I can then save, print or
Acrobat the fax for future use.

I have since installed the JFax system on over 100 client computers,
some with accounts some without, and over the last couple of years
have had nothing but compliments.

Reliable, affordable, always there when you need it and follows me
wherever I go.

All of this said I have to admit I have not tried the alternatives
you mention. My motto generally is "if it ain't broke don't fix
it"
