Re: [OT] Good Mail Client

Hi Kevin,

I've been using The Bat! for the last 6 months or so.

http://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/

Shareware, 24Euros to register (xmas special offer, normally 35Euros).

There are software updates frequently.

Extremely powerful things like regular expression pattern matching for
filters (you dont have to though! :-))

Multiple accounts, multi simultaneous user access.

Will import from Eurdora, Pegasus, Netscape(s), Outlook Express, Outlook,
or from .eml files etc.

Automatically blocks any HTML/MIME inline attachments, so you don't trigger
spyware/virus attachments. (you can click a button (or set a rule) to allow
friendlies through)

Mail threading by
subject(very useful for UKHA)
person (from or to)
references[see earlier postings on creating new messages by replying to
old]

In fact it is so powerfull that you can use the mail client to manage
mailing lists etc.

OK, its time to slowly move away from Microsoft. So as a starting point
want to move away from Outlook (both full and express) I only use these at
home for SMTP/POP3 mail. Does amyone have any recommendations for a
replacement mail client. I would like to import my PST file and also
address book.

Oh would be nice to be able to group messages.

Cheers

Kevin
