I didn't / wouldn't bother with shielded cable - I don't think it's
neccesary for a domestic environment. It's more suited to electrically
noisy industrial installations.

I used Category 5e (enhanced). Brands were Philex and another one I can't
remember. I got it from TLC (www.tlc-direct.co.uk) and Screwfix
(www.screwfix.com) respectively for about 30 quid a box. this was a couple
of years ago and it's cheaper now, IIRC.

No sorry, I did all mine myself.

You can use Cat5e for your phone points and WHA keypads, lighting
controllers etc. Make sure you run enough !!!! (which usually translates to
looking like a *ridiculous* amount before you start to use it, and then you
realise what a cheapskate you were when you come to connect it all up)
