[OT] CD copy protection

Odd one this - I've yet to find a CD that I cannot copy on my PC, yet I'm
not doing anything subversive to bypass the copy controls. As an example,
I've just stuck the new Nora Jones CD in there, which has warnings all over
the cover about being copy controlled. It pops up with a box saying that
s/w needs to be loaded to play it, I hit cancel, and iTunes launches and
happily plays it and imports it. The problem is, I want to upgrade to a
DVD
burner, (currently just a CD burner & DVD player), but don't want to
loose
this 'feature'. Is this just an oddity of my set-up, or is the copy
protection stuff not actually very good?
