RE: [OT] Noise cancelling headphones

Thanks Adrian (no other replies yet Mark & Gordon).=20=20

How big are the NC5's? I've found loads of photo's on the web, but none of
somebody actually wearing them. It's a personal thing I know, but I didn't
particularly want 'ear-muff' style 'phones (a la Bose and some of the
large=
r
Sennys). Also, have you noticed any 'oddness' in your ears when you use
them? As you've had them for 3 years I'm sure the answer is 'no', but
quit=
e
a few people seem to have complained of a feeling of pressure in the ear
canal, and even feeling a bit queasy.

I'm on a plane next week, so will probably plump for a pair tomorrow, but
I'm still not sure which ones.... (BTW, if anyone's planning on waiting
until the airport, don't bother, all crappy Dixon's had were sub-=A330 Aiwa
and Panasonic NC 'phones). Target market walking in the door, and they
fil=
l
the shelves with crap, go figure....

Peter,

I have a Sony MDR-NC5 set that I carry around with me when I am=20
travelling......I am well impressed, they are now about 3 years old and=20
going strong. They make a huge difference to in flight entertainment,=20
you have to be a bit careful when you first connect up not to defen=20
youself!!!

I also use them to cut out lots of background noise when I am trying to=20
sleep on night flights and they work like a charm - dont plug them in=20
and they make great earplugs.

Adrian
