Slightly OT - need to replace IDE Controller on Fuji MPG3409AH

I have a customer with a faulty hard drive - it's a Fujitsu MPG3409AH
40Gb 7200rpm IDE drive and it won't spin up.

I have another Fuji drive on my shelf - an MPE3084AE 8.4Gb drive but it
has two ribbon connectors between the controller and the drive where the
40gb only has one.

I put the working controller onto the faulty drive (using one of the
connectors) and when powered - it spun up!!

Obviously as expected, the BIOS didn't see the drive but proves the
controller has gone.

Fujitsu can't help as it's an out of date product so I was wondering if
anyone else can?

Does anyone have one of these drives? Are you local to Dunstable/Luton
Are you willing to help me get the data off this drive onto a new one?

Costs will be incurred by the customer - he knows this.

I do know of data recovery experts (On-Track, Vogon etc) but I'd rather
try it the cheap way first.

Hope someone can help
