Re: Bathroom TV
Hi Rob,
Yeah, the price is about right - I've been googling and it checks out.
I don't have a link for the s/s bolts. I buy stuff like that from a local
fastenings supplier.
The 'hardest' thing is to get the glass made, but there's a glass supplier
near me that will make the toughened cover with ground edges and holes
drilled. Also, there's regs regarding how close a certain sized hole can
be

I was planning on reinforcing the marble bath surround with resin (GRP) and
fixing some captive nuts to the back for the allen bolts. The glass will
be
oversized and 'backpainted' just leaving the screen itself visible, with
audio via ceiling speakers.
Regards
Simon

Hi Simon
No I think that price is correct as they are also pre-listing them on dabs:

Your marble plan sounds smart, especially the stainless bolt idea? Can I
leach you idea and ask for a link to the allen bolts?
Cheers
Rob

Rob,
Great minds think alike!
I've been planning to install a 7" TFT at the foot of the bath. I've
seen
the Joytech one but I hadn't seen it on Play.com. I'm sure they must have
the wrong price??? I'm certain I've seen it everywhere else for £200+.
Just preordered one with them, so hopefully if it's a mistake they will
honour the price :o) Thanks for the link.
I'm thinking of gluing the screen to toughened glass and then recessing it
all into a gasketed marble surround held in place with 4 stainless allen
screws. Small TFTs seem to give off quite a bit of heat for their size. I
was hoping that the heat from the screen would help prevent the glass from
steaming up. I've installed heated mirrors in the bathroom, but it's not
always necessary to use them - it depends how cold the bathroom is before
you run a bath.
Regards
Simon
