I don't mean to suggest that it won't work at all below 60W, but that 60W
is
a minimum specified in the documentation (the range is 60W-700W).  I assume
that means a smaller load will have some adverse effect on the lifespan of
the LD11s components.

As for dimming halogens (which is probably the OPs concern, as opposed to
load), they work fine - I used one to dim 5x50W 240V halogens.  In fact,
aren't halogen bulbs basically the same design as ordinary bulbs, just with
a different gas in them?
