It's slower, but not that slow, to reimage the disk across the network.
TrueImage can be booted form 3 diskettes or a CD as a stand alone (Linux
based?) version that loads network drivers and can access SMB resources
(i.e. Windows shares). The only problem you may encounter is if your
network card requires strange drivers. I used this method to install W2K on
a CD-less laptop (I installed on a VMWare virtual disk and then moved the
resultant image to the laptop).

Ghost probably has the same options.
