Just a thought; by default, pocketpc never shuts down apps when you
close them, unless you run a seperate taskbar like WisBar or something -
when you quit things they're still running in the background.

Pretty sure in the memory control panel there's an option to stop
running programs - shutting down *everything* before you load your
game/map program (either from there or doing a soft reset) might speed
things up a bit ?
