On a related note I tried out some of the LED GU10 240v Lamps recently from
TLC http://tinyurl.com/278ob

The idea being to power them off a LD11 dimmer unit.  The result was a
quick brighting and dimming off the lamps followed by one going pop.  The
electronics in them obviously doesn't agree with a LD11 dimmer unit.
