One other thing to bear in mind is that the new Building regs come into
force
very shortly, with some quite major changes. Bear this in mind when going
down
the DIY route over a protracted period, as what may comply now, may not by
the
end of the year. Just chatting to our building control team, they feel that
ventilation is the issue most overlooked in DIY conversions. This may be
particularly pertinant if you are about to be re-roofed. Let your roofing
contractor know of your future intentions as it may impact on the design of
your re-roofing. Good luck and I hope that all goes well
