Re: OS disk recovery software
This is what I did - having reinstalled XP from scratch about 3 times in 6
months. I formatted the drive and did a clean install followed by all the
applications/settings etc. Then I restored my data and used Norton Ghost
to snapshot the drive. I now have a DVD with a clean XP install - now it
only takes a few minutes to format the drive and restore to that point.
I also use Norton Ghost to snapshot the drive before doing anything
potentially dangerous - just in case!
BTW - if you use ghost to restore the drive onto a bigger HDD you run the
risk of the NTLDR not found message - specific and very effective
instructions were posted here about 6 months ago about how to get round
this - check out the archive.

Sorry Dean but your post has reminded me to raise a question I'm been
mulling over for a while. I can't be any help with the lost .pst - good
luck anyway.
I want a way of snap-shotting my boot disk ( win xp ) together with all app
data, user files, registry etc. WHEN my hard drive fails AGAIN I will
simply restore this image onto the replacement drive. The replacement
drive
may be larger than the failed drive. I kind of see it working like the
toshiba default install cds that came with the laptop.
