Hi all,

After a protracted absence and silence on the home automation front,
a house move has renewed my interest (and budget). Can anyone help
with the following query? Google and the UKHA_D search facilities
haven't helped so far...

Where can I find affordable audio amplifiers that will drive several
(4) sets of speakers? My understanding of audio isn't that great -
can I run several sets of speakers from a normal HiFi by wiring them
in parallel or series?

I'm trying to implement a simplified form of whole house audio, using
a few SliMP3 players. To save costs, and because we don't need
anything too fancy, I thought of on having a single SliMP3 for
upstairs, feeding several rooms. Listening volumes and quality are
not so much an issue for upstairs, and it seems easy to have a single
amplifier sat in the loft feeding to speakers in each room. At the
moment though it's looking like it might just be cheaper to buy
several SliMP3s, which isn't something I really want to do.

Many thinks for any help,

Ray Barnett
