I have used DVDx to rip to small AVIs as well as VCD. TBH I have not put
it on my Axim yet but they play on my xbox no worries so I can't imagine
that the pocket PC will any different.

It is a one click solution and supports all the codecs you have
installed check doom9 for a download.
