Gareth,
The price of the unit seems very good for the performance =A340+vat
(&P+P?)
Not sure what the cooling time on your projector is but according to the
sp=
ec on the website it looks as if you would get 10 minutes or so before it
s=
huts down...
I have taken a broader approach, I have installed 2 x 3KVA Compaq UPSs
(=A3=
100 each on EBAY + delivery), these then feed everything I want to
maintain=
/ protect. They have 9 IEC connectors on the back of each unit... Battery =
life is a function of load but they indicate 20+mins at 35- 40% load. This
=
seems accurate from recent experience...

The problem then is what happens if the power has not resumed in that
time.=
I have some of the servers connected so they auto shut down after a period=
of time on the UPS if mains is not restored. This gives a nice clean shutd=
own. It looks as if the USB interface would provide this function but this
=
wouldn't function with a projector so you would have to manual switch it
of=
f...=20
The other alternative is a standby generator... Coincidently I have just
in=
stalled an 11 KVA unit with self start, it takes about 5 seconds to come
on=
line...

This may be seen by a few people as OTT though ?
Regards
Nigel

All
I want to add a UPS to my DLP Projector - we have plenty of power drops=20
here for whatever reason (sometimes for hours on end), and the Node 0=20
stuff is on battery backup. We had a cut once when watching a film and
Im=20
paranoid about the PJ getting damaged because it can't cool down.
Now my power specs for the PJ are :
Rated Voltage AC 100?240 V
Input Current 3.6 A
50/60 Hz
Power Consumption 345 W
Reckon this ebuyer special will do the trick ? I've tried a small APC
UPS=20
500VA unit but that just says overload when the PJ fires up.
