RE: IPOD - warning

It's the whole Apple thing through and through - style over substance. I
looked at an ipod and decided against it - precious little in the way of
impact protection or shock absorption for the hard drive!

Now it we get IBM's smart technology in it - sensing movement and auto
parking the drive, making the case from something robust like titanium
rather than flimsy ally or plastic, then it might be a bit stronger... Then
it wouldn't be an apple product, I guess.

Still, whining about apple doesn't help with this problem, so I'll shut up
and crawl back under my rock ;)

Ian.

Although a regrettable turn of events, I'm not sure Apple are behaving in
any way different from any other manufacturer of such, or similar, devices.
It's a small thing with a hard drive in it so is susceptible to
shock/vibration, etc. If this isn't mentioned in the user guide/manual
then
fair enough, but I suspect it will be somewhere.
