i emailed my motherboard manufacturer (Jetway) to see if they could
throw any light on this matter. I got a reply which I'm not sure I
understand? :)

It said

===========================
Dear Sir
Thank you for support JETWAY products.

pls check your cpu. the board not support p4 prescott cpu

Thank & Best Regards
JETWAY FAE Support Team
===========================

Now I've been using this combination of CPU and m/b for over two
years - and i believe without any problem until i swapped PSUs.
What's a prescott CPU tho'? I'm using an Intel Pentium 4 2.4ghz for
the 533mhz system bus which as far as i can see my m/b supports.

The manual says:

CPU Socket - support Intel Pentium 4 478 pin
- support 1.5G~2.4G 400/533 MHz F.S.B. 478 Pin Pentium 4
processor

I'm okay aren't I??

Malcolm
