Re: Text to Speech - AT&T Natural Voices

It may be because of the size - AT&T natural voices comes on 2 cds.

Subject: [ukha_d] Text to Speech - AT&T Natural Voices

I've been experimenting with TTS using the windows SAPI speech engine
and ACE with Comfort CWI etc. I'd like to take things a bit further
and invest in a 'decent' voice. It seems that the AT&T Natural
Voices fonts are still about the best for UK English (Audrey sounds
pretty good).

Anyone else using AT&T fonts with ACE etc - any views or other
suggestions?

Second, and most important, how do you obtain these fonts. I've gone
throught the AT&T Natural Voice site and this directs you to a
Wizzard Software site to purchase. Having gone through tortuous
paths I found the fonts section and expected to purchase & download
but it seems that they want to physically ship it to me for a minimum
$16 mail charge (on top of the $50 price) - then add time, possible
VAT & duty etc (I guess). Does anyone know where it can be bought on-
line by download. (It almost seems that they don't want to sell the
dam thing - it's so hard to buy there!)

Thanks

Richard
