Plasma - or should I wait for LCD?

I know a lot of you here have plasma TVs. I was thinking of buying one in
the new year, and have been reading up on the subject. There seems to be a
big argument about burn-in - with many people claiming their screens showed
signs of it after watching a single DVD movie with black bars, and others
claiming it all to be nonsense. I watch quite a lot of movies, so probably
30% of the time there will be black bars above an below. Even those faint
channel logos appear to affect some people.

So, from those who actually own one - is burn-in really the problem it's
made out to be, or is it just people repeating negative things that they
have heard?

Mal
