HI, guys!
As an avid amateur photographer, I've been scanning my negatives and
transparencies for about four years now. I started out trying to use a
good (at the time) flatbed scanner, and while it was acceptable for medium
format (6x6cm) images, it really was not at all satisfactory for 35mm or
smaller images, IMHO.
I highly recommend (for a good general purpose filmscanner) the Minolta
Scan
Multi (I or II) and using Ed Hamrick's Vuescan software to drive it. Not
only does the Minolta scan 6x9cm images, but also 35mm and APS with an
adapter. APS can be scanned in completely automatically, which is it's
saving grace in my estimate! Furthermore, the Scan Multi I and II are
older units and as such may be had for on the order of US$500 or
thereabouts
on the used market.
For more information on filmscanning, there is a very good list hosted by
Tony Sleep (on your side of the pond). Instructions for subscribing are
at:
www.halftone.co.uk
Hope this helps!!

Ho yin,
Thanks for the offer.
I looked on Amazon and found that it does APS, but you have to crank it
on for each frame! So as I have at least 40 rolls I'll pass on this
one.
Cheers,
Martin
