It also has the knock on effect that getting qualified sparks working in
their own time is now not an option
I wasn't expecting ti train an electrician in one seminar Mark
That is why I used the word Basic
There are a lots of Do's and Don'ts which could be passed on
Basic Understanding of what is needed would go a long way when people
try to talk to electrical contractors
I was not suggesting an afternoons training on installing a Switch
spur!!!

New Part P regs require that affected works are either carried out by a
registered electrician who can self-certify compliance or you have to
apply
for Building Reg's approval in which case you'll be charged for
inspections!

You do know about the change in the law that takes effect on the 1st
January?
Under the new building regs that come into force, you will only be
allowed to carry out _very_ minor work on mains wiring on a pure DIY
basis. Anything else needs either to be done by an approved
electrician, or signed off by one.
