I think:-
The annual meets are a good thing.
The interaction between people is what makes the event.
People like Clipsal, Linitx and Lasar/ Cbus- Shop will always have
something to show.
Perhaps we should look at other ways of filling the day.
I would enjoy - even pay proper money to hear:-
XAP where it is and how to get there
Xpl -DITTO
Pic programming
Other might like a hands-on demo of:-
Hacking your Tivo
Basic Mains Cat5 wiring**
How a relay works - (No names No Pack drill) ;-)
Basic soldering./ circuit board development
The list goes on
Perhaps seminars where the speakers are paid for their time: Both
preparation and delivery.
Who knows if Keith doesn't have to spend hours preparing for a stand he
might even finish his Switcher!
Just my 2d worth
Mike
**How many people know to wire a house with Cat5 the amount of cable
drums is dependant on how many cables go to each point, not the total
length of cable required?

I think it's a good idea also - Perhaps a full blown annual meet is too
much
to expect from you guys? This seems to cover off the keeping up to date
and
the social aspect although they'll obviously be a hit on the DIY guys
who
can't show their wares but as Stuart says, is there that much new stuff
to
show so soon after the last?
