Nigel,

If I had to guess, it would be that you have a semi colon between the
domain name and the username ...

But I will agree... XBMC is fantastic.

Try hitting the white button on your controller while you have a retail
movie selected... It goes to IMDB, DL's the movie information and cover
art, and keeps it on file... Instant movie summaries!

I suppose everyone is out Christmas Shopping ???

I seem to have solved the problem.... Not really sure how... but I can
watch and listen to shares from various machines on the network....

I have to say that XBMC is Fantastic... Just a bit flaky to get started,
especially if you have a 'Domain Server'...

All I need to do now is get the streaming working from the TiVo and I
should have a very high WAF... For some reason when I telnet to TiVo it
doesn't recognise 'rw' as a command....

More head scratching....

network...

Hi Guys,

Sorry if this is seen as off topic but I know a lot of people have
X-Boxes on the list and some probably have SBS 200x or Win2K server...

I am trying to configure the SAMBA shares across my Domain to a Win2K
box with a shared directory. However, when I try to browse the directory
with XBMC I get 'Error - Access Denied' or
'NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND'.

I have looked on the XBMC forum but they only talk about Win2003 and the
issue of the digital signature being set as encrypted by default. I have
checked this on my Domain and it is disabled, (SBS2K Default ?)

If I use the 'Workgroup (SMB) Network' in the list I can see the Domain
and navigate to the machines in the domain. However when I try to open a
machine I get an Access Denied error message. (I've listed the default
below)

<bookmark>

<name>WORKGROUP (SMB) Network</name>

<path>smb://</path>

</bookmark>

I thought I would have to use:

<bookmark>

<name>SMB Network Share</name>

<path>smb://DOMAIN;username:pwd@MyWindowsServer/music/</path>

</bookmark>

A couple of related questions...

Does the 'Xbox' need to be listed as a computer in the Domain ?

Does / Can the Xbox be configured to 'Log on' to the domain ?

All very frustrating......

Nigel
