Hi Jim
When I first looked into it I found I could buy the hardware without insta=
llation for around =A32.5K
=20
To get a warranty on it I would need to get it installed by a HVAC bloke. =
I spoke to two local companies and both wanted around =A3250 per man per
da=
y. Which was going to work out very expensive.
Using Google I found all the information I needed to do the job my self, i=
ncluding the engineer installation information which has all the error
code=
s and technical diagrams.=20
So I invested in about =A3800 worth of kit to install the units, but I
spen=
t a week doing it and have managed to hide all the pipes from both main
uni=
t and two of the indoor units. Whereas I am sure that the local guys would
=
have just routed the pipes the shortest and easiest routes.
The hardware came direct from Hitachi, as I run my own business they allow=
ed me to create an account and I managed to save =A3750 from the retail
pri=
ce I was expecting to pay. All in we paid out about just under =A33k.
As the units were installed in September they haven't been really put to
th=
e test. However since the outdoor unit also acts as a heat pump I have
used=
it in that fashion. I like the fact that outside can be -5oC and the unit =
still manages to extract heat from it.
All in all a very steep learning curve. But no problems along the way and
w=
e were both very surprised how quite both the indoor and outdoor units
are.=
I also now have all the gear should anything go wrong.
Regards,
Paul

Nice. Roughly how much does a system like that cost to buy then?
