Grounding IR cabling

  • Subject: Grounding IR cabling

I'm going to rewire all the IR receivers this weekend - the screened CAT5
turned up (very fast from minitran)

I'm using a Xantech dist. block with Buffalo receivers. I'm assuming I
connect the sleeve earth wire at the dist. module (at node 0), and do
nothing with the other end where all the receivers are. But, I can connect
it to the cage, but the cage isnt earthed. Then will it follow true I
should earth the cage ? Maybe a plug with the just the earth lead
connected and plugged into the mains (ala wrist strap) ??

Hopefully this screened cable will get rid of this cursed constant-on the
IR system has.
