I'm using 568B, since I believe that is more "normal".

Certainly I have come across kit in the past that only has the 568B
colour codes marked on the punch-down blocks...

I guess it probably doesn't matter as long as it's the same at the wall
socket and the patch panel but which standard are people using for the
fixed
wiring in their (UK) houses ?
