RE: NODE 0 Heat




My Node0 is in a (similar?) sized double cupboard - gets *bloomin* hot in
there! I put in a bathroom extract fan (in-line type) so the fan could be
located further into the loft for noise reasons. It does help a lot but
with 2 servers, loads of hard disks etc it still gets up to 30 Deg +.
Processors start cooking and one machine did have a problem with crashing
before I installed extra cooling fans in the case.

I plan on upgrading the extract fan with something even bigger and quieter
- too loud to run at night (I currently have it switched off via an AD10 at
night from a HomeVision schedule).

I also put a vent in the bottom of the door so cool air can enter before it
gets sucked out via the extract.
