I think you forgot to chmod your rc.sysint after you were tinkering.
Quoting Tony's Freeranger site -
Okay, so you are a *nix/TiVo hacking genius now. Great. What happens when
you hack your rc.sysint and forget to chmod 755 it?
You're up the creek, that's what.
El TiVo will refuse to boot and you're going to have to faff about putting
the disk into a C etc etc so you can find the file and chmod it again.

Hi,
Ok so I have now got Tivo just looping doing a reboot as
soon and it would normally bring up the menu.
So the last thing I did was play with rc.sysinit. When I
rebooted it got stuck and the welcome screen. So thought I knew what I
had broken. Whipped disks out and put into pc and booted from Tivo cd.
Mounted the fourth partition and checked the rc.sysinit file. Couldn't
seen anything wrong with it. So replaced it with an old copy. Now when I
reboot I get the second screen ( just a few more seconds.) then it
reboots.
So I'm now confused.
I'll put it back in the pc and see what else I can find.
Any one know what partition the /var/hack dir will be on.
Regards,
Paul
