Swish Autoglide K400 Motor

When we moved into this house in July 2000 I fitted out almost every window
with Swish Autoglide K400 units. None of the windows are particularly
large
and the curtains on them are not especially heavy. But one by one each of
the motors has stripped its internal gearbox.

I've only one now that hasn't failed. It's one particular cog in the box
that keeps splitting and would be fairly straightforward to replace but I
haven't manage to find anyone who will sell me just the cog. Instead I
have
to send the unit off to have the whole gearbox replaced - a five minute job
that costs £45.

It also appears to be replaced with exactly the same cogs so I expect these
to fail in another 3 or 4 years time! :-(

What's everyone else's experience of these? Anyone else experience the
same
or have I just been unlucky??

Malcolm
