You must enter an IP address for the unit in the box that says
"Specify IP Address" if you
want to avoid DHCP.

Submask should be set to the same submask as used on your PCs. This is
probably
255.255.255.0, but you can check by running "ipconfig" in a dos
command window.

It will also tell you what your default gateway is - this is the machine on
your LAN that
is a router to get out to the internet. It will still work inside your LAN
without this
set (which is how I've got mine right now - with the gateway set to
0.0.0.0), but you
can't telnet *from* the mss100 out to the internet. Although why you'd want
to do that,
I'm not sure. There may be other things that don't work without the gateway
set, but mine
is working with cbus without this.
