Sharing Backups of important stuff like photos

A quick idea here.

There are a number of us on the list who have Gigabytes of family
photos that they would hate to loose.

Now what about if a group of us started sharing photo backups.

IE I have got about 6Gb. Now if I sent person a 2 DVDs with them on
then I could just ftp new photos to the persom and vice versa.

What do people think?
