RE: [OT] eBuyer RANT!

Thing I find ironic is that it can often be cheaper to get things
delivered=
to NI from the good old US of A than from England.

Ordering a replacement screen for my digital camera and delivery is $8 to
t=
he UK. Got a battery for my Archos from newmp3technology and delivery was
$=
6.

Mustn't have listened too well in geography at school, but I do believe
tha=
t the USA is further away than England.

Mark,

FFS is absolutely right...!
Living in Northern Ireland myself, I refuse to buy off cowboys such as
this=
as they clearly don't want my business...!
(However, I do make an exception if I can get enough people to buy with me
=
thus splitting the costs).

Credit to other companies I've dealt with in the past who, when contacted,
=
would arrange for smallish items to be sent by Royal Mail and at a
fraction=
of the cost.

Recently I bought (or at least I thought I had bought) at Sony 32"
Widescre=
en TV from Play.com. After 2 weeks of frequent contact with Play (being
tol=
d that the couriers would contact me directly to arrange a delivery
date/ti=
me) they told me that their couriers were refusing to delivery to
N.Ireland=
(and Scotland I think!). So, ordered from unbeatable.co.uk on Monday, they=
phoned Tuesday morning to arrange delivery date, the TV, stand and DVD/VCR=
combi (combined weight of ~100kgs) arrived on Wednesday morning - at no ex=
tra charge for delivery to N.I...!!!

Andy.

P.S. Remember the good ol' days when delivery was free from dabs...???
Thes=
e days dabs' absolute minimum delivery charge to N.I. is =A38.88...!!!
Need=
less to say, I "blacklisted" dabs long ago ;o)
