RE: [OT] Spying on an installation program

Don't know of a program that can intercept real time commands from another
program. However you could try reading the Setup.lst file that may be in
the
same installation directory as the Setup.exe file. If it exists it will
list
the files it is trying to install and reference. Depends really how
standard
the installation routine is. Sounds a little bit naughty if it is bombbing
out without telling you exactly what it is looking for and how to rectify
the
problem.

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] Spying on an installation program

Afternoon,

This may sound like a really strange request, and I hoping such a thing
exists.

Im running a setup.exe update file that is failing due to it saying that
the original program doesnt exist, when I know it DOES exist.

Is there such an application that I can run before running setup.exe
that will log the activity from the .exe so I can see where it is
failing or what file its looking for??

Probably explained this really badly so if its not clear what I mean,
let me know, and I'll try again.

Thanks in advance.

Stuart
