I'm finally getting around to wiring up and moving kit into a rack cabinet
in the Garage. Having wired together 8 patchbay ports to the phone line,
what I thought would be equally as useful is to wire a pair of ports as a
Ethernet crossover. My thinking here is to allow me to pull 2 Cat5 patch
leads out of the switch and directly into these two ports to effectively
connect two devices together as if I had used a single crossover cable.
The
benefits of doing it this way rather than using a short crossover patch
lead
are that I can include Ethernet devices that are located in the rack and
normally connected directly to the switch.
Now..... Can anybody tell me what wires I swap over with what so that I
can
punch this down directly on the back of the patch bay.
