More Cat5 - USB questions

Hi All,

I had a trawl through the archive on the CAT5 - USB discussions, and
didn't find quite what I want to know.

What I intend to do is to run a redrat3 which is USB based over a 5m+
cat5 wire.

Does anyone have direct experience as outlined below.

Seeing as the redrats don't like to be on anything longer than a 2m
USB cable according to reports what I intend to do is this, bearing
in mind selecting twisted pairs for the USB/Cat5 wires as previously
dicsussed in the forum.

Computer -> USB -> RJ45 cat5 RJ45 ->USB -> powered USB hub
-> redrat

My next question is, just as I have a USB mouse with a simple PS2
adaptor, how simple is it to get a USB keyboard, or even better a USB
keyboard with an RF link? I could then plug this into the hub
upstairs.

I could just buy one of these.

But it seems a tad expensive!
