Agreed, I've seen the same, but the Dart-tag is nothing like these;
occasionally I can roll up to the barrier and it'll raise without me
stopping completely, but it would be a very brave person that doesn't have
their foot hovering over the brake pedal. Normally I have to wave the tag
out of the window to make something happen.  I don't know why they didn't
implement something a bit better, at least for the dedicated Dart-tag lane
(which, BTW, always accepts cash too, despite what the signs say).

Oh dear.

I don't know about the UK tags, but have observed these things in
the USA where they have a similar thing.

Basically, tagged vehicles dont slow down at the toll gates - they
drive straight through at full road speed.  That would be fairly
unfunny if they were unreliable...
