Sorry Don, may have given you a bum steer here as it seems as though you
can't download from the BBC site. :-(

I also found http://www.bbc.co.uk/nationonfilm/
but it's the same...

this might not be of use but I know that BBC Scotland has an extensive
video clip library online at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/history/scotlandonfilm/a_to_z/index.shtml
(and
it includes '60s clips). Might the main BBC site have something similar
for
England / UK??

the other alternative would be to do a Google on Pathe News who I'm sure
have their library online but I suspect that you'd have to pay for clips...

Bit of a long shot!

I'm helping out a friend to put on a bit of a do at the weekend for her
mums
60th Birthday. The theme will be the 1960s and I'll be taking along my
laptop and projector to do a karaoke session (!) and also provide the
music.
As I'll be taking the projector, I thought it would be fun to project
some
1960s stock footage at various times - fashion, lifestyle, music, etc.
The
problem is I can't find any!

Does anyone have any hints at where I might find some?

I've looked at the British PAthe site but the available free clips are
low
resolution and wouldn't be suitable on a large screen. And have you seen
the
prices for a high res clip.

This is purely for a private party and won't be used for commercial
purposes
besides there are no funds available for this.

Any thoughts?

Regards

Don
