One more to try is Command.. It had too much admin overhead in our
corporate
environment but was an excellent product in standalone...
It has won numerous awards etc... http://www.commandsoftware.com/downloads/
Give it a go..

Thanks for all of the replies !
Been burnt with McAfee so I won't go with that again this time.
I think I'll take a look at the suggestions Norton, AVG, F-Prot etc.. and
see what works for me
There are so many variables in any particular PC set up that the only way
to
know is to give it a try.
I know at least Norton allows a trial of 15 Days and also proivide a 60 day
no-quibble money back guarantee
Just need to ensure those backups are current ;-)
Thanks guys
Dave

I currently run two copies of McAfee Internet security (last years version)
and am fed up with the horrible buggyness of it, error dialogs about drives
not inserted and update errors leading to temporary files being left
undeleted ?!
The years licence is about to run out and I'm not keen on purchasing
another
year from McAfee
Any recommendations on Antivirus software and firewall software (I have
smoothwall at home, but these machines are laptops that are sometimes used
outside of that)
Obviously there is Norton's - but I've heard a couple of similar problems
to
the irritating ones I've been having - of course it could be me ;-)
Ideally a similar price point to McAfee or cheaper ;-)
Thanks
Dave
