Why don't you just use an ftp program? to transfer files?

You will therefore have file resume etc. I guess the only downside is that
you have to run the ftp server software on your machine.

My other alternative (which is one I have used in the past) is use a
program called Hotline Connect. It is very easy to setup and transferring
files works well.
