London mini-meet - 20th August

Hi all, the consensus of the messages I've had both on- and off- list
is that the 20th August, while not ideal for everyone, is the "least
bad" option.

The next question is to set a venue.

Samuel Johnson once famously said "when a man is tired of London, he
is tired of life." Were he around today, he might have said "when
a
man is tired of London, he is tired of sticky, hot, crowded,
over-priced pubs."

Nonetheless, the advantages of a pub venue are numerous - availability
of drink, flexibility of being able to turn up / leave individually
rather than having a table booked.

How about the normal haunt at London Bridge?

(For the uninitiated, it's a pub about 2 minutes walk from London
Bridge station. There's normally room to stand, and it's just off the
tourist route enough to not be stupidly crowded.)

Mark
