Network Cables

  • Subject: Network Cables

Hopefully a simple question.

I have twice come across in networks a "CAT5 UTP" cable with RJ45
plugs on
both ends using the following wiring colours as below

1 Blue

2 Red

3 Black

4 nc

5 nc

6 Yellow

7 nc

8 nc

nc = no connection

What are these cables for?, I have only come across them because people
have
had problems with their networks when they have used these instead of the
standard EIA/TIA 568 wired cables.

TIA

Jon
