Try GFI's LanGuard... excellent network sniffer, just install and run - a
piece of proverbial cake.

Not yet, but will do.....except now I find that the web interface ain't
responding.
I'm _sure_ I put it on 192.168.1.250, but I get nothing back on
that.....but
the WAP is working because my tivo and my ipaq and my printer all still
work

Can't see how/why it might have shifted to a different IP - anyone know of
a
something I can use to "sniff" my network to try to find it?
